Exempted PF Trusts Get Wider Investment Options

Exempted Provident Fund trusts can now invest in rupee-denominated bonds issued by four major global financial institutions, including the World Bank and Asian Development Bank. This move brings them parity with the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) and allows diversification beyond domestic corporate debt. The investment requires a minimum outstanding maturity of three years. This decision is expected to benefit approximately 1,000 exempted trusts, managing funds for nearly 30 lakh members, by ensuring stable long-term yields.

छूट प्राप्त प्रोविडेंट फंड ट्रस्ट अब वर्ल्ड बैंक और एशियन डेवलपमेंट बैंक जैसे चार बड़े वैश्विक वित्तीय संस्थानों द्वारा जारी रुपये-मूल्यवर्ग के बॉन्ड में निवेश कर सकते हैं। इस कदम से उन्हें एम्प्लॉई प्रोविडेंट फंड ऑर्गनाइजेशन (EPFO) के बराबर का दर्जा मिला है और वे घरेलू कॉर्पोरेट ऋण से आगे विविधीकरण कर सकते हैं। निवेश के लिए न्यूनतम तीन साल की बकाया परिपक्वता की आवश्यकता होगी। इस फैसले से लगभग 1,000 छूट प्राप्त ट्रस्टों को लाभ होने की उम्मीद है, जो लगभग 30 लाख सदस्यों के लिए फंड का प्रबंधन करते हैं, और इससे स्थिर दीर्घकालिक रिटर्न सुनिश्चित होगा।
