US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth Makes Unannounced Visit To Israel

Times of India · world

US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth made an unannounced visit to Israel on Monday, meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The visit occurred shortly after Hegseth announced on social media he was in the Middle East on a "historic mission" to visit US troops. This trip follows US President Donald Trump's endorsement of Netanyahu ahead of Israel's upcoming parliamentary election. The election is the first since the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack, which escalated regional tensions and triggered the ongoing war in Gaza.
