Election officials in Belagavi, Bidar, and Vijayapura districts have avoided initiating inquiries into bulk Form 7 applications. These applications, which sought to delete voters' names, were either withdrawn or rejected at preliminary stages. This action prevented potential penal action against objectors for filing false declarations under the Representation of the People Act. The Congress government had alleged attempts to remove genuine voters, demanding scrutiny. However, officials stated that since the forms were not formally accepted or were returned, they lacked grounds to proceed with complaints.
