IIT-Bombay Student Council Distances Itself From Protesting Group

Times of India · education

The official student council at IIT-Bombay has distanced itself from a group of 10-12 students protesting near the main gate, stating they do not represent the wider student community. Protests began after a student's suicide, with most students ending their agitation after institute assurances. The council claims some protesters have external affiliations and that their actions affect thousands of students. Protesting students, however, question the council's independence and allege the administration has not acted on demands.
