Former Principal Granted Bail in Corruption Case, Sparking Political Row

The Supreme Court has granted bail to Sandip Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, in a corruption case. This decision has led to political accusations, with the BJP stating that bail does not equate to innocence. BJP state president Samik Bhattacharya clarified that legal rights do not depend on emotions. Ghosh was imprisoned for nearly two years, and the trial process has been slow. Previously, the CBI court and Calcutta High Court had rejected his bail pleas.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने आरजी कर मेडिकल कॉलेज और अस्पताल के पूर्व प्रिंसिपल संदीप घोष को भ्रष्टाचार के मामले में जमानत दे दी है। इस फैसले से राजनीतिक आरोप-प्रत्यारोप शुरू हो गए हैं, भाजपा ने कहा है कि जमानत का मतलब बेगुनाही नहीं है। भाजपा के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष समीक़ भट्टाचार्य ने साफ़ किया कि कानूनी अधिकार भावनाओं पर निर्भर नहीं करते। घोष लगभग दो साल से जेल में थे और मुकदमे की प्रक्रिया धीमी रही है। इससे पहले सीबीआई कोर्ट और कलकत्ता हाई कोर्ट ने उनकी जमानत याचिकाएं खारिज कर दी थीं।
