Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty initially refused to play the antagonist in the upcoming film Jailer 2, citing his friendship with lead actor Rajinikanth. He expressed reluctance to portray a villain who would be beaten or shot by Rajinikanth. However, Chakraborty later agreed to the role after meeting Rajinikanth, but only on the condition that he would not be physically harmed or shot in the film. Rajinikanth confirmed this during a promotional event for Jailer 2, recalling the conversation. The film is scheduled for a worldwide release on October 15, 2026.
