Rupee Weakens Against Dollar Amidst Rising Crude Prices

The Indian rupee has depreciated by over 0.8% against the US dollar in the current fiscal year. This weakening trend comes as the impact of the Reserve Bank of India's foreign exchange interventions fades, with crude oil prices continuing to surge globally. The one-month forward premium on the rupee was recorded at 3.17%, while the one-year forward premium stood at 2.83%.

इस वित्तीय वर्ष में भारतीय रुपया अमेरिकी डॉलर के मुकाबले 0.8% से ज़्यादा गिर गया है। कच्चे तेल की कीमतें लगातार बढ़ रही हैं और RBI के विदेशी मुद्रा हस्तक्षेप का असर कम होने से रुपये में यह गिरावट आई है। एक महीने का फॉरवर्ड प्रीमियम 3.17% रहा, जबकि एक साल का फॉरवर्ड प्रीमियम 2.83% दर्ज किया गया।
