Delhi's Air Quality Hits Season's Worst; New Winter Curbs Cause Traffic Jams
Times of India · environment
AQI reached 261, the worst of the season and highest in 198 days, as new winter pollution curbs began on Sunday. The restrictions, including emission checks on vehicles entering the capital, led to significant traffic congestion at city borders, particularly on the Delhi-Gurugram and Delhi-Noida routes. Enforcement teams are conducting round-the-clock checks, deploying personnel and using ANPR cameras to ensure compliance. These measures, in effect until February 28, aim to combat vehicular emissions and dust pollution during winter.
