DRDO Successfully Tests High-Altitude Parachute System in Ladakh
Aaj Tak · science
DRDO has successfully conducted the first live jump of its AHAP in Ladakh. The test jump was performed from an altitude of 16,000 feet at the Mudh drop zone in Nyoma. The parachute deployed at 15,500 feet and landed safely at 13,700 feet, demonstrating its capability for high-altitude operations. Designed for Indian defence forces, the AHAP can be used to deploy paratroopers in challenging terrains. This successful test marks a significant step towards self-reliance in high-altitude parachute systems.
