Samiti Opposes Demand to Include Vijayapura District Under Article 371(J)

The Hyderabad Karnataka Horata Samiti president, Lakshman Dasti, has opposed the demand to include Vijayapura district, along with Sindagi and Indi taluks, under Article 371(J) of the Constitution. Dasti stated that Article 371(J) was specifically created for the seven districts of Kalyana Karnataka to address regional imbalances. He clarified that while other regions could seek separate constitutional amendments, attempts to include areas outside the designated seven districts under the existing Article 371(J) would be strongly opposed.
