New York State has filed a lawsuit against prediction market company Polymarket, alleging it violated state laws against illegal gambling. Attorney General Letitia James stated the company operated without required licenses from the State Gaming Commission. The suit also claims Polymarket encouraged gambling among users as young as 18, below the state's 21-year-old requirement for mobile sports betting. This action aims to protect New Yorkers and ensure funding for public services.
