Railway Fined Rs 16,000 For No Water In Train Toilets

A family traveling from Bengaluru to Shivamogga had to leave their train after finding no water in the toilets. After receiving no assistance at Tumakuru station, 24 passengers were forced to disembark and find alternative travel. This incurred an additional expense of ₹1,760 for new tickets. The District Consumer Commission has now ordered the railways to refund the original ticket fare with interest. Additionally, the railways must pay ₹10,000 as compensation for the inconvenience and ₹5,000 for litigation costs.

बेंगलुरु से शिवमोग्गा जा रहे एक परिवार को ट्रेन के शौचालयों में पानी न मिलने पर अपनी यात्रा बीच में ही छोड़नी पड़ी। तुमकुरू स्टेशन पर कोई सहायता न मिलने के बाद, 24 यात्रियों को ट्रेन से उतरकर वैकल्पिक यात्रा की व्यवस्था करनी पड़ी। इससे ₹1,760 का अतिरिक्त खर्च आया। अब जिला उपभोक्ता आयोग ने रेलवे को मूल टिकट का किराया ब्याज सहित वापस करने का आदेश दिया है। साथ ही, रेलवे को असुविधा के लिए ₹10,000 और मुकदमेबाजी के खर्च के लिए ₹5,000 का भुगतान करना होगा।
