LDF Mobilises Coastal Community Against UDF's Maritime Corridor Plan

LDF is rallying the state's coastal community against the Congress-led UDF government's Mission Samudra Initiative. This project aims to transform Kerala's 640 km coastline into a high-value maritime economic corridor. The LDF alleges the initiative will lead to large-scale displacement of fisherfolk, loss of livelihoods, and restricted access to the coast. They are likening it to the Central Government's Sagarmala Initiative, which also faced similar opposition.

LDF राज्य के तटीय समुदाय को कांग्रेस के नेतृत्व वाली UDF सरकार की मिशन समुद्र पहल के खिलाफ एकजुट कर रहा है। इस परियोजना का उद्देश्य केरल के 640 किमी तटीय क्षेत्र को एक उच्च-मूल्य वाले समुद्री आर्थिक गलियारे में बदलना है। LDF का आरोप है कि इस पहल से मछुआरों का बड़े पैमाने पर विस्थापन होगा, आजीविका का नुकसान होगा और तट तक पहुंच प्रतिबंधित होगी। वे इसकी तुलना केंद्र सरकार की सागरमाला पहल से कर रहे हैं, जिसका भी इसी तरह विरोध हुआ था।
