State-run oil marketing companies are incurring significant daily losses of ₹530 crore on petrol and diesel sales due to surging crude oil prices. Losses amount to ₹8 per litre on petrol and ₹9 on diesel, with LPG also facing under-recoveries of ₹300 per cylinder. This situation is driven by geopolitical tensions and supply disruptions in West Asia, pushing India's crude import prices to $117.4 per barrel.
