Karnataka MLA Threatens Resignation Over Drought Declaration

A senior Congress leader and former Karnataka Minister, H K Patil, has threatened to resign as an MLA if Gadag taluk is not declared drought-hit by October 10. Patil stated he would abide by the people's decision if the declaration is not made, but vowed to make all efforts to ensure it happens before October 2. Currently, 124 taluks in Karnataka have been declared drought-hit, with assessments ongoing in other areas.

कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता और कर्नाटक के पूर्व मंत्री एच के पाटील ने धमकी दी है कि अगर 10 अक्टूबर तक गदग तालुका को सूखाग्रस्त घोषित नहीं किया गया तो वे विधायक पद से इस्तीफा दे देंगे। पाटील ने कहा कि अगर घोषणा नहीं हुई तो वे जनता के फैसले का पालन करेंगे, लेकिन 2 अक्टूबर से पहले इसे सुनिश्चित करने के लिए हर संभव प्रयास करेंगे।
