Stephen Curry-backed Howard Golf Teams Make History with NEC Titles

Times of India - India · india

Howard University's golf program achieved a historic milestone in April 2026 when both its men's and women's teams secured conference championships. The women's team clinched its first-ever Northeast Conference (NEC) title, followed by the men's team winning its third consecutive NEC championship. These victories are a testament to the program's growth, which began six years prior with financial support from NBA star Stephen Curry. The success also led to Howard University Director of Golf Sam Puryear being named HBCU Coach of the Year.
