Nashik Excise Seizes Liquor Smuggled From Daman and Diu

The State Excise department's divisional flying squad has seized foreign liquor being smuggled into Nashik from the Union territory of Daman and Diu. Acting on a tip-off, authorities intercepted a car at Amboli Phata on the Jawhar-Nashik Road, finding 21 boxes of liquor manufactured in Daman and Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. The vehicle and a cellphone were also confiscated from the suspect, identified as Santosh Nangare. Officials stated that liquor is cheaper in Daman and Diu, leading to frequent smuggling attempts for profit across Maharashtra.
