The ad showed Acton's mother calling her daughter a liar, and drew bipartisan criticism due to the family's history. A campaign official stated the ad had "rotated off like any ad would." Ramaswamy indicated he wanted to focus on policy for the remainder of the campaign. The advertisement had faced backlash from both Republicans and Democrats, including Governor Mike DeWine.
