Telangana CM Ready for Probe into Imported Coal Deal, Leaves Inquiry Choice to KTR

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has agreed to an inquiry into the import of Grade 9 coal for the Yadadri thermal power plant. He has left the selection of the investigating agency, such as the CBI, ED, or IT Department, to BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao. Reddy alleged that the previous BRS government's agreements aimed to eliminate Singareni Collieries from supplying coal and increase reliance on imports. He also questioned the significant cost escalation of the Yadadri project, citing a ₹37,781 crore increase from the initial BHEL agreement.
