The United States will impose zero ad valorem tariffs on certain speciality drugs and their ingredients imported from India and 19 other nations. This exemption applies to drugs designated for rare diseases, infertility treatments, and advanced therapies like cell and gene therapies. This move is part of President Trump's plan to adjust duties on pharmaceutical imports. The US Commerce Department published the list of eligible countries in the Federal Register, outlining the implementation of this trade policy. Generic pharmaceutical products are not subject to these tariffs.
