Kerala PWD Plans 350 New Bridges and 15,000 Km Road Upgrades in Five Years

PWD has launched an ambitious infrastructure plan to construct 350 bridges and upgrade 15,000 km of roads to BMBC standards within its current tenure. Projects worth ₹2,000 crore have already received administrative sanction in the first six months. The department will focus on developing congested junctions, constructing bypasses and flyovers, and improving selected cities. Special attention is also being given to road projects for the Sabarimala pilgrimage, with significant funding allocated.

PWD ने अपने मौजूदा कार्यकाल में 350 पुल बनाने और 15,000 किमी सड़कों को BMBC मानकों तक अपग्रेड करने की एक महत्वाकांक्षी बुनियादी ढाँचा योजना शुरू की है। पहले छह महीनों में ₹2,000 करोड़ की परियोजनाओं को पहले ही प्रशासनिक मंजूरी मिल चुकी है। विभाग भीड़भाड़ वाले चौराहों के विकास, बाईपास और फ्लाईओवर के निर्माण, और चयनित शहरों में सुधार पर ध्यान केंद्रित करेगा। सबरीमाला तीर्थयात्रा के लिए सड़क परियोजनाओं पर भी विशेष ध्यान दिया जा रहा है, जिसके लिए पर्याप्त धन आवंटित किया गया है।
