Germany Parliament Approves Temporary Fuel Tax Cut

German lawmakers have approved a temporary cut to fuel taxes on gasoline and diesel. The tax reduction, set to begin in October and last until the start of the new year, aims to alleviate the burden of rising fuel prices for citizens. This measure is expected to cost the federal and state governments approximately €2.5 billion in lost tax revenue. It marks the second time this year Germany has implemented such a tax rebate to help consumers cope with increased costs.
