Venkatesh Iyer has detailed Gautam Gambhir's impact on the Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) IPL 2024 victory, highlighting a dressing-room culture that demanded constant readiness. Gambhir, as mentor, fostered an environment where batters were always padded up and prepared to attack from the second over, regardless of the openers' progress. Iyer explained that Gambhir's presence instilled confidence, eliminating fear of failure but strictly prohibiting mediocrity. This approach ensured players were constantly on their toes, eager for an opportunity to contribute aggressively.
