Lawyers’ Group Forms Panel of Ex-Judges to Probe Electoral Roll Revision Concerns

A lawyers' group, the Lawyers Association for Constitution (LAFC), has announced the formation of an independent five-member panel to investigate concerns surrounding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Chaired by former Supreme Court judge Justice Madan B. Lokur, the panel includes retired judges from the Supreme Court and various High Courts. It will assess the constitutional validity, methodology, and impact of the SIR exercise on voters. The panel plans to conduct public hearings and research, aiming to submit a report by December 2026.
