The Assam government has enacted a strict policy against polygamy for its employees. State government employees found to be practicing polygamy will face immediate dismissal from service. Furthermore, they will be permanently disqualified from any future government jobs and will be barred from receiving benefits from public welfare schemes. This amendment to the Assam Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1964, aims to promote women's rights, dignity, and gender equality. The decision was formally approved by the Assam Cabinet, reinforcing the state's commitment to gender justice and curbing societal exploitation.

असम सरकार ने सरकारी कर्मचारियों के लिए बहुविवाह पर लगाई रोक नौकरी से बर्खास्तगी और अयोग्यता का प्रावधान

असम सरकार ने अपने कर्मचारियों के लिए बहुविवाह के खिलाफ एक सख्त नीति लागू की है। बहुविवाह का अभ्यास करने वाले राज्य सरकार के कर्मचारियों को तत्काल सेवा से बर्खास्त कर दिया जाएगा। इसके अलावा, उन्हें भविष्य में किसी भी सरकारी नौकरी के लिए स्थायी रूप से अयोग्य घोषित कर दिया जाएगा और सार्वजनिक कल्याण योजनाओं से लाभ प्राप्त करने से रोक दिया जाएगा। असम सेवा (अनुशासन और अपील) नियम, 1964 में इस संशोधन का उद्देश्य महिलाओं के अधिकारों, गरिमा और लैंगिक समानता को बढ़ावा देना है। इस निर्णय को औपचारिक रूप से असम कैबिनेट ने मंजूरी दे दी, जिससे राज्य की लैंगिक न्याय और सामाजिक शोषण को रोकने की प्रतिबद्धता मजबूत हुई है।
