Major routes like Vayalur Road and Old Karur Road were already damaged by infrastructure projects, with subsequent rainfall exacerbating the issues. Unattended potholes and manholes present significant dangers to motorists, pedestrians, and two-wheeler riders. Despite the corporation completing some repairs, many city roads also show erosion, increasing the risk of accidents. The highways department has acknowledged the damage and plans to initiate repair work soon.
