Jhalawar police have arrested a 34-year-old father and the maternal uncle of a 17-year-old girl for allegedly arranging her marriage to a man for Rs 4 lakh. The girl, Pooja, stated that her father and uncle coerced her into the marriage against her wishes, concealing her age from the groom, Vijay. She alleged facing abuse and attempted to leave multiple times, but her family claimed she had been sold. Police have added charges related to trafficking and the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act.

झालावाड़ पुलिस ने 17 साल की एक लड़की के 34 वर्षीय पिता और मामा को कथित तौर पर 4 लाख रुपये में एक आदमी से उसकी शादी कराने के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया है। लड़की, पूजा ने बताया कि उसके पिता और मामा ने उसकी उम्र दूल्हे, विजय से छिपाकर उसकी इच्छा के विरुद्ध शादी के लिए मजबूर किया। उसने दुर्व्यवहार और कई बार भागने की कोशिश करने का आरोप लगाया, लेकिन उसके परिवार ने दावा किया कि उसे बेच दिया गया था। पुलिस ने तस्करी और बाल विवाह प्रतिषेध अधिनियम से संबंधित आरोप भी जोड़े हैं।
