Researchers noted one victim died within 30 minutes, suggesting potent cardiotoxicity. The Caspian Cobra, primarily found in Central Asia, was first recorded in Chamba in 2019 and is reportedly expanding its range. The study also raises concerns about the effectiveness of standard anti-snake venom against this species, highlighting snakebite envenoming as a major preventable cause of death in rural India.
