Chinese pilots have shared insights from joint air combat drills with Egypt, involving French-made Rafale and Russian-origin MiG-29 fighters. During the 'Eagles of Civilization 2026' exercise, Chinese J-16 fighters trained alongside Egyptian aircraft. Chinese pilots noted the strong manoeuvrability of Egyptian fighters in close-range combat. They also highlighted the effectiveness of the J-16 in beyond-visual-range engagements, especially with support from the KJ-500 early warning aircraft. The drills focused on electronic warfare and coordinated fighter operations, offering potential tactical lessons for India, which also operates Rafale and MiG-29 aircraft.
