Bhutan Glacial Flood Causes Infrastructure Damage, Triggers Evacuations in India
The Hindu · india
A glacial lake outburst flood in Bhutan has caused significant infrastructure damage at the Gasa Tshachu hot springs, washing away parts of the road to Laya village and potentially two Bailey bridges. While no injuries or fatalities have been reported, the area had been evacuated prior to the flood. In response, Indian authorities have issued high-alert and evacuation warnings for residents along the Sankosh River in West Bengal, anticipating a surge in floodwaters within the next 1 to 1.5 hours.
