They then trick victims into installing remote access or screen-sharing applications and paying fake registration fees, leading to the theft of money and personal information. The police strongly advise using only official websites or apps and never installing remote access apps on strangers' advice.

केरल पुलिस ने नकली कस्टमर केयर नंबरों के माध्यम से होने वाली वित्तीय धोखाधड़ी के खिलाफ जनता को सतर्क रहने की सलाह दी है। अपराधी इन फर्जी नंबरों को ऑनलाइन पोस्ट करके पीड़ितों को फंसा रहे हैं। जब लोग सहायता के लिए इन नंबरों पर डायल करते हैं, तो धोखेबाज वैध एजेंट बनकर वापस कॉल करते हैं। वे पीड़ितों को रिमोट एक्सेस या स्क्रीन-शेयरिंग एप्लिकेशन इंस्टॉल करने और नकली पंजीकरण शुल्क का भुगतान करने के लिए बरगलाते हैं, जिससे पैसे और व्यक्तिगत जानकारी की चोरी हो जाती है। पुलिस दृढ़ता से केवल आधिकारिक वेबसाइटों या ऐप्स का उपयोग करने और अजनबियों की सलाह पर कभी भी रिमोट एक्सेस ऐप इंस्टॉल न करने की सलाह देती है।
