RBI Sells Dollars To Support Rupee
Business Standard · business
India's foreign-exchange reserves saw their sharpest weekly decline since November 2024, falling by $14.9 billion in the week ending September 18. The Reserve Bank of India sold approximately $10.9 billion in foreign exchange to support the rupee. This intervention comes as the rupee faces pressure due to rising crude oil prices, exacerbated by renewed tensions in West Asia and the US-Iran conflict. Benchmark Brent crude prices have increased by over 17 percent in the past month.
