The Centre has mandated new rules for packaging of cosmetics and toiletries like soaps, shampoos, and toothpaste. Consumers can now identify if a product is vegetarian or non-vegetarian. Vegetarian products will carry a green dot, while non-vegetarian ones will bear a red or brown dot. These marks must be placed on the principal display panel of the package.
