District administrations in Kodagu and Chamarajanagar have mandated that firecrackers can only be burst between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. daily, promoting an eco-friendly Deepavali. This directive aligns with National Green Tribunal and Supreme Court orders, emphasizing the use of only green crackers recommended by CSIR-NEERI. The sale and use of firecrackers exceeding 125 decibels are also prohibited. Authorities stressed that firecrackers contribute to air and noise pollution, harming health and the environment, urging a pollution-free celebration.

कोडगू और चामराजनगर ज़िलों के प्रशासन ने कहा है कि अब पटाखे रोज़ाना रात 8 बजे से 10 बजे के बीच ही फोड़े जा सकते हैं, ताकि पर्यावरण-अनुकूल दीपावली मनाई जा सके। यह आदेश National Green Tribunal और Supreme Court के निर्देशों के अनुसार है, जिसमें CSIR-NEERI द्वारा सुझाए गए सिर्फ़ ग्रीन पटाखों के इस्तेमाल पर ज़ोर दिया गया है। 125 डेसिबल से ज़्यादा आवाज़ वाले पटाखों की बिक्री और इस्तेमाल पर भी रोक लगा दी गई है। अधिकारियों ने ज़ोर देकर कहा कि पटाखे हवा और शोर प्रदूषण बढ़ाते हैं, जिससे सेहत और पर्यावरण को नुकसान पहुँचता है, और उन्होंने प्रदूषण-मुक्त उत्सव मनाने की अपील की।
