The waiver applies when land acquired for these projects is transferred from a parent company to a project-specific subsidiary. This move is expected to facilitate investment and encourage growth in the state's green energy sector. However, the land must be exclusively used for renewable energy development, with the waiver cancelled if diverted for other purposes.

महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने रिन्यूएबल एनर्जी प्रोजेक्ट्स के लिए 25% भूमि हस्तांतरण शुल्क माफ कर दिया है। राजस्व मंत्री चंद्र शेखर बावनकुले द्वारा लिए गए इस फैसले का उद्देश्य सौर और पवन ऊर्जा डेवलपर्स के लिए प्रोजेक्ट लागत कम करना है। यह छूट तब लागू होगी जब इन प्रोजेक्ट्स के लिए अधिग्रहित भूमि को मूल कंपनी से प्रोजेक्ट-विशिष्ट सहायक कंपनी में स्थानांतरित किया जाएगा। इस कदम से राज्य के ग्रीन एनर्जी सेक्टर में निवेश को बढ़ावा मिलने और विकास को प्रोत्साहित करने की उम्मीद है। हालांकि, भूमि का उपयोग विशेष रूप से रिन्यूएबल एनर्जी विकास के लिए किया जाना चाहिए, और यदि इसे अन्य उद्देश्यों के लिए डायवर्ट किया जाता है तो छूट रद्द कर दी जाएगी।
