Punjab Bus Strike Leaves Thousands Stranded Commuters Face Long Waits and Overcrowding

Thousands of commuters across Punjab were left stranded as an indefinite strike by contract workers of Punjab Roadways, PUNBUS, and PRTC disrupted government bus services. The agitation, launched simultaneously across depots, saw workers protesting and bringing a large number of government buses off the roads, causing long waits and overcrowding at bus stands. Women passengers, who benefit from the state's free travel scheme, were particularly affected.
