Kashmir Women's Group Revives Wetland, Attracts Birds

An all-women team in Kashmir, the Salim Ali Birdwatchers Network (SABN), has successfully revived the Hokersar wetland near Srinagar. This initiative, launched in January 2025, has led to the return of nearly one lakh migratory birds. The 15-member group focuses on wetland cleaning, conservation education, and promoting women's roles in environmental protection.

कश्मीर की महिलाओं की टीम, सलीम अली बर्डवॉचर्स नेटवर्क (SABN), ने श्रीनगर के पास होकर्सर वेटलैंड को फिर से ज़िंदा कर दिया है। जनवरी 2025 में शुरू हुए इस काम से करीब एक लाख प्रवासी पक्षी वापस आ गए हैं। यह 15 लोगों का ग्रुप वेटलैंड की सफाई, पर्यावरण शिक्षा और महिलाओं को पर्यावरण संरक्षण में आगे लाने पर काम कर रहा है।
