FM Sitharaman's LTCG Tax Remarks Boost Indian Markets

Indian equities surged significantly after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman indicated ongoing discussions regarding long-term capital gains (LTCG) and securities transaction tax (STT). Her comments at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum suggested the government is aware of investor concerns about capital gains taxation and transaction costs. Following her remarks, the Sensex rose over 1,000 points intraday, and the Nifty gained more than 300 points. The finance minister also reassured investors about India's strong macroeconomic fundamentals and fiscal discipline.

वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने लॉन्ग-टर्म कैपिटल गेन्स (LTCG) और सिक्योरिटीज ट्रांजेक्शन टैक्स (STT) पर चल रही चर्चाओं का संकेत दिया, जिसके बाद भारतीय इक्विटी में काफी तेज़ी आई। ब्लूमबर्ग न्यू इकोनॉमी फोरम में उनकी टिप्पणियों से लगा कि सरकार कैपिटल गेन्स टैक्स और ट्रांजेक्शन कॉस्ट को लेकर निवेशकों की चिंताओं से अवगत है। उनकी टिप्पणियों के बाद, सेंसेक्स इंट्राडे में 1,000 अंकों से ज़्यादा बढ़ गया, और निफ्टी में 300 अंकों से ज़्यादा की बढ़त देखी गई। वित्त मंत्री ने भारत के मजबूत मैक्रोइकॉनॉमिक फंडामेंटल्स और फिस्कल डिसिप्लिन को लेकर भी निवेशकों को आश्वस्त किया।
