Hindustan Times · technology
Anthropic has updated its usage policy to prohibit users from engaging in "sustained and needless abusive or cruel behavior" towards its Claude AI models, with the new rules taking effect on November 12, 2026. The AI company clarified that extreme cases of repeated cruelty without discernible purpose are banned, but ordinary frustration, criticism, and testing remain permitted. This policy builds on an earlier decision allowing Claude to end conversations involving persistent abuse, which will remain the primary enforcement mechanism.
