Endometriosis, a condition more common than diabetes, affects one in seven women worldwide, significantly impacting their work lives and career progression. In India, approximately 2.7 crore women suffer from this painful condition, which can lead to infertility and affect various organs. Dr. Abhishek Mangeshikar highlighted that much of the damage caused by advanced endometriosis is preventable with specialist care. However, a reluctance to refer complex cases to specialists often results in repeated surgeries, organ damage, and women leaving their careers altogether.
