Startup Edybites Develops Edible Spoons After 88 Failed Attempts
The Better India · lifestyle
Mumbai-based startup Edybites is tackling disposable cutlery waste with edible spoons made from millet and flour. Founder Rupesh K Sanghvi developed the concept after observing significant waste in the aviation industry and recalling a Gujarati food tradition. After 88 failed attempts to perfect the shape, texture, and sturdiness, the spoons are now finding their way to dining tables. The innovation aims to make cutlery part of the meal, reducing waste, or naturally decomposing if not consumed.
