Lebanese security forces intercepted a minivan carrying hundreds of kilos of explosives, including TNT and C-4, on October 5. Hezbollah MP Hassan Fadlallah claimed the materials belonged to the group, demanding their return and the release of two detainees. He stated the explosives were intended for use against Israel's occupation of southern Lebanon. However, political opponents fear the confiscated explosives could be used internally against detractors, citing past assassinations. Prime Minister Nawaf Salam noted C-4's use in previous killings, though no link to the seized shipment was established.
