Rupak Kumar's debut Bengali short film, 'Duti Chaka' (Two Wheels), has been selected for the 7th International Kolkata Short Film Festival. Inspired by a real-life incident, the film delves into childhood innocence and the impact of social prejudice, focusing on two eight-year-old friends in rural Bengal. Their lives are disrupted when one is falsely accused of theft, leading to public humiliation and highlighting how suspicion can damage a child's dignity. Kumar aims to explore societal assumptions about children and the lasting emotional scars such incidents can create.
