Kolkata Flyovers Get Pink, Yellow Paint; Design Sparks Debate
TV9 Hindi · india
Kolkata's flyovers and major road junctions are being painted with vibrant colours and traditional 'Alpona' designs as part of a beautification drive before Durga Puja. While the state government promotes the initiative as a symbol of communal harmony and trust, critics argue the bright colours could obstruct driving visibility and cause confusion. Urban Development Minister Agnimitra Paul highlighted the collaborative effort of Hindu and minority artists in creating the designs, particularly in Park Circus, as a message of brotherhood.
