Three New Cascade Frog Species Found

Three new species of cascade frogs have been discovered in northeast India, according to a recent study. The research also documented five other cascade frog species in India for the first time. One of the newly identified species has been named in honour of Kerala social worker Padmini Varkey, highlighting the region's rich biodiversity and the importance of conservation efforts.

पूर्वोत्तर भारत में तीन नई प्रजातियों के कैस्केड फ्रॉग (मेंढक) पाए गए हैं। एक नई स्टडी के मुताबिक, भारत में पहली बार पांच अन्य कैस्केड फ्रॉग प्रजातियों को भी रिकॉर्ड किया गया है। इनमें से एक नई प्रजाति का नाम केरल की समाज सेविका पद्मिनी वर्की के सम्मान में रखा गया है। यह खोज क्षेत्र की समृद्ध जैव विविधता और संरक्षण के महत्व को दर्शाती है।
