Parents Protest Rohtas Primary School Merger Over Safety and Access Concerns

Parents in Rohtas district are protesting the education department's proposed merger of Rupibandh Primary School, fearing it will compromise their children's education and safety. The school, serving Classes I to V, currently operates with 82 students in a single, poorly equipped room lacking basic facilities. Parents argue that relocating students to schools up to 6km away, some requiring crossing a busy highway, poses significant risks and does not address the core infrastructure issues. They are demanding improvements to the existing school rather than a merger that would create additional hardships.

रोहतास जिले में माता-पिता शिक्षा विभाग द्वारा रूपीबंध प्राथमिक स्कूल के प्रस्तावित विलय का विरोध कर रहे हैं। उन्हें डर है कि इससे उनके बच्चों की शिक्षा और सुरक्षा से समझौता होगा। यह स्कूल, जो कक्षा I से V तक के बच्चों को पढ़ाता है, वर्तमान में 82 छात्रों के साथ एक ही, खराब सुविधाओं वाले कमरे में चल रहा है। माता-पिता का कहना है कि छात्रों को 6 किमी दूर के स्कूलों में भेजना, जिनमें से कुछ को व्यस्त राजमार्ग पार करना होगा, गंभीर जोखिम पैदा करेगा और मौजूदा बुनियादी ढाँचे की समस्याओं का समाधान नहीं करेगा। वे विलय के बजाय मौजूदा स्कूल में सुधार की माँग कर रहे हैं, जिससे अतिरिक्त कठिनाइयाँ पैदा होंगी।
