A Reddit post sparked debate over exorbitant housing rents in Mumbai, highlighting a 2BHK flat in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, reportedly renting for ₹1.2 lakh per month for 650 sq ft. Users questioned the affordability compared to local incomes, noting this rate surpasses many European and US markets. Real estate experts suggest this is an exceptional case, with typical Vashi 2BHK rents ranging from ₹40,000 to ₹60,000. Premium apartments might fetch up to ₹90,000, but ₹1.2 lakh is rare and depends on factors like location and amenities.
