The CPM state secretariat has urged the Kerala government to ensure the safety of over 1,000 Malayali students at Lovely Professional University in Phagwara, Punjab. This call comes amid alleged attacks by outsiders following protests over a student's alleged sexual assault by an electrician. The CPM stated that students and parents are living in fear, alleging that authorities failed to act against the accused. They are pressing for intervention from Chief Minister V D Satheesan to ensure students can study without fear and to demand action against those responsible.
