Times of India · environment

Twenty-six cats and kittens were discovered abandoned in plastic boxes and pet carriers in a Birmingham alleyway on September 30. The animals were found to be lethargic, underweight, and suffering from flea infestations, with some struggling to breathe. Two cats, a four-week-old kitten and a one-year-old, are receiving treatment for anaemia and dehydration. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) is investigating the incident and has appealed for information. This abandonment follows another case where six kittens were found days earlier.
