Karnataka HC Quashes Case Against Man Who Shouted 'Pakistan Zindabad' Mistakenly

The Karnataka High Court has quashed criminal proceedings against a man accused of shouting “Pakistan Zindabad” at a Bharatiya Janata Party rally in 2022. The court accepted the petitioner's argument that he had mistakenly shouted the slogan instead of “Pakistan Murdabad” due to a slip of the tongue. The court noted that it was unimaginable for protesters at a BJP rally to raise such a slogan. The investigation failed to establish that the slogan caused any social unrest, leading the court to deem further proceedings an abuse of process.
